Day 9 At Sea – Crew Tug Of War

Friday 25th  January 2013

Vance was feeling a little under the weather this morning so I went off to Kinesis and left him in bed. He had a light breakfast and we both had a lazy morning but by lunchtime he was back in his bed and fast asleep.

11am was the final round of the Iron Chef contest. This time the teams had to prepare a dessert using dark chocolate, strawberries and avocado among other things. They all looked delicious but the winner was Team 2. Chef Thorsten said all three winning courses will be on the menu in the main restaurant  in the next few days.

Went  back to the cabin to check on Vance and found him asleep but with the TV on…hooray…the signal’s back.

He decided to spend the afternoon in bed so at 3pm I joined the other guests to watch the Crew Tug Of War. It was hilarious, the crew really enjoyed it and produced some fantastic costumes and I took some fabulous photos. A special mention to housekeeping ‘The Runaway Brides’ for their great costumes and of course for the Bar Team who won for the fourth consecutive time on the world cruises.

We decided to have room service in our suite tonight, so no dressing up for us,  just a club sandwich for me and Parma ham and melon for Vance with a movie and then early to bed.

Clocks back half an hour tonight (not sure why half an hour) so we are now nine and a half hours behind UK time…not that it really matters what the time is anywhere else when you’re in the middle of the Pacific Ocean as all that really matters is ships time.
